Job summary

Pet Valu Canada Inc. is seeking a Vice President, IT Operations to lead the reliable, secure and cost-efficient operation of our production technology across stores, distribution centres, corporate locations and cloud services.

Reporting to the CTO, this executive oversees cybersecurity, governance, infrastructure, platform operations, service management, store technology readiness and data and network services, partnering with business leaders to balance risk and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of technology leadership experience in enterprise IT.
• Experience leading infrastructure, cloud, networks, database operations, security and retail technology.
• Strong ability to communicate to executives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an IT Operations strategy aligned with Pet Valu’s priorities and roadmap.
• Establish accountability, ownership and operating rhythms across infrastructure, security, retail tech and service management.
• Partner with the CTO to translate priorities into capacity plans and measurable service commitments.
• Ensure availability, performance and recoverability of production technology services for stores and corporate functions.
• Lead incident, change, risk and service governance with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Oversee cost optimization, asset management, and vendor governance across technology platforms.
