Job description

An ideal candidate profile would be someone who lives in or is commutable to Toronto, Canada for a hybrid position, but we will consider anyone 100% remote role based anywhere in the United States (preferably East Coast or Midwest) or Canada.

Our client is a fast-growing, Private Equity-backed Network Infrastructure / Security Software company looking for a VP / Head of FP&A.

The company:

  • They are exploring a sale (1.5B-2B range) and have been private equity-owned since 2022
  • Very sticky customer base (mid-90% gross retention)
  • Profitable with "mid-30s" EBITDA
  • Has acquired multiple companies over the last few years.
  • Interested in exploring the intersection of AI and FP&A / Workflow Automation

You will come in as the company has just started exploring a sale and will be tasked with supporting the company through the due diligence and sale process. The company's business is complex, and there will be a very steep learning curve with limited time to get up to speed, so we are looking for someone who can come in and understand the nuances of working with on-prem revenue / ASC606 and how that impacts forecasting. There is a strong existing accounting support function that will work closely with the FP&A function.

Responsibilities
  • Support the company through a successful due diligence and transaction over the next 18 months, interfacing with the PE Sponsor as well as the buyer.
  • Quickly gain a deep understanding of the business - Forecasting, Sales Cycles (9+ months), Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), Customer Expectations, Operational Complexities.
  • Leverage Pigment, lead P&L reporting and forecasting processes (monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-range plans) with a high degree of accuracy and transparency
  • Build and maintain and present robust financial models and systems to support scenario planning, decision-making, and provide visibility into key metrics and relevant KPIs
