The National Bank of Canada Capital Markets is seeking an Associate or Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Global Credit Markets, based in Toronto and working on-site. The role focuses on leading structuring, execution, and origination of complex FI financing transactions for Canadian and international clients.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of relevant experience in corporate banking and financial institutions.
• Strong experience in analyzing and structuring corporate lending and financing transactions.
• Deep understanding of financial institution business models and capital structures.
• Advanced financial modeling and credit analysis capabilities.
• Excellent relationship management and business development skills.
• CFA, CPA, MBA or other designation is a strong asset.
• Proven leadership and mentorship experience.

Responsabilités

• Lead origination, analysis, structuring, and execution of complex FI lending transactions.
• Build and manage client relationships and lead meetings and pitches with senior team.
• Oversee financial and credit analysis and prepare credit recommendations and materials.
• Monitor portfolio performance and market trends affecting the FI sector.
• Collaborate across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, DCM, Derivatives, and Risk Management.
• Mentor Analysts and Associates and promote best practices.
• Develop deep understanding of the FIG sector and represent the team as an advisor.
