Recruiting in Motion is seeking a VP Finance for a well-established non-profit organization in Toronto, Ontario. The role requires strategic financial leadership, oversight of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and governance, and hands-on management of the finance team.

You will partner across departments to drive accurate financial reporting, implement strong financial controls, and lead the external audit process, while exploring process improvements with digital tools.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with at least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Experience leading financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Experience with audits and financial governance arrangements.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Oversee preparation and delivery of financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior leadership.
• Lead annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning aligned with strategy.
• Develop financial models, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor performance and support resource allocation.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors for affiliated entities as needed.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Manage, mentor and develop the finance team to strengthen capabilities.

About Our Client

Responsibilities

The VP Finance is responsible for:

• Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and multi-year financial planning, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and priorities.
• Financial Performance Management: Develop and maintain financial models, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting dashboards to monitor performance and support resource allocation.
• Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.
• Audit & Financial Governance: Coordinate the annual external audit process and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors. Oversee financial reporting and audit-related activities for affiliated entities, as required.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, and digital tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the quality of financial information.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, strengthening individual capabilities, leadership effectiveness, and overall team performance.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with departments across the organization to support operational planning, financial forecasting, and effective resource allocation.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must be a designated CPA, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive.
