Job summary

CIBC in Toronto is seeking a Vice-President, Capital Markets Resource Optimization to set strategic direction for allocating financial and human resources across Capital Markets, designing analytics, models, and governance to support a unified client coverage strategy.

You will lead enterprise‑level initiatives to maximize ROE, ROI, and capital efficiency, oversee liquidity and funding frameworks, and advise senior leadership on growth opportunities and strategic resource planning.

Qualifications

• University degree required with at least 15 years’ experience in trading/resource optimization.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, liquidity, funding, and regulatory environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Expert analytical and financial modeling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of quantitative analytics and optimization models for Capital Markets.
• Design allocation methodologies for unified client coverage strategy across lines of business and regions.
• Advise senior leadership on investment priorities and resource trade-offs.
• Oversee performance measurement frameworks and dashboards for resource effectiveness and outcomes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Front Office to align planning and governance.
