About The Borgen Project

The Borgen Project is an international organization working to improve living conditions for those impacted by war, famine, and poverty. With 20 years of experience, it advocates for poverty reduction to be a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy, supporting legislation that benefits hundreds of millions in developing countries.

This part-time, unpaid remote program lasts 12 weeks, requiring approximately 12 hours per week. Participants can complete it sooner if desired. The program offers insights into leadership and development of nonprofit organizations through various modules :

  • Advocacy Leadership Development : Engage with government representatives, represent The Borgen Project at events, and mobilize support for legislation.
  • Fundraising Development : Learn fundraising skills, create campaigns, and meet targets.
  • Recruitment : Manage job postings, inform groups about openings, and participate in interviews.
  • Marketing and Promotion : Pitch stories to media, utilize social media, and develop web messaging strategies.

No prior experience is necessary; passion for fighting poverty is key. This is an unpaid opportunity, with college credit available. Programs start monthly, and you can choose your start date.
