The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefitting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Nonprofit Leadership Program

This role provides insight into key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.

Program Components

1. Advocacy Leadership Development: Meet with government members in your district; represent The Borgen Project at various events; mobilize individuals to support poverty-reduction legislation.
2. Fundraising Development: Learn fundraising; create a personal campaign and meet targets.
3. Recruitment: Update job postings; inform groups about openings; learn recruitment platforms and participate in interviews.
4. Marketing and Promotion: Pitch stories to media; utilize social media; develop web messaging strategies.

Experience: No prior experience necessary. We seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty, regardless of background or GPA.

Details: Unpaid program; college credit available.

Start Date: New programs start monthly; you select your start month.
