With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Nonprofit Leadership Program
The role provides insight into key skills needed to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. This is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead to complete the program in fewer weeks.
Advocacy Leadership Development: Meet with government members in your district; represent The Borgen Project at various events; mobilize individuals to contact their representatives in support of poverty-reduction legislation.
Fundraising Development: Learn to fundraise by creating a personal campaign and meeting targets.
Recruitment: Update job postings; inform groups about openings; learn recruitment platforms and participate in interviews.
Marketing and Promotion: Pitch story ideas to media; utilize social media; develop web messaging strategies.
No prior experience is necessary; we seek passionate individuals committed to fighting poverty, regardless of GPA or background.
This is an unpaid program; college credit may be available.
Start dates are flexible, with new programs beginning monthly. You choose your start month.
