Job summary

Parks Canada is seeking a Facilities Attendant for Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia. The role involves cleaning and maintaining visitor buildings, accommodations, and public areas, as well as locking and unlocking buildings and reporting repairs.

You will work as part of a team during the peak season. The position is open to residents of Ingonish, Cheticamp or within 110 kilometres of Baddeck, with legal status to work in Canada.

• Cleaning and maintaining visitor/public buildings/facilities;
• Cleaning and maintaining diversified accommodations;
• Conduct general cleaning around buildings, grounds, public-use areas such as visitor centers, campgrounds, beach areas and walkways;
• Lock and unlock buildings and gates;
• Observe appearance and condition of premises and equipment; report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring servicing;
• Maintain / restock inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies;
• Contribute to visitor experience by responding to general inquiries and direct visitors to sources of information and service areas.Facility Attendants typically work in a team during the peak season, however, those that work earlier or later in the season may have some more independent work.
