Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta (Buildings) is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction Coordinator to develop and coordinate digital construction models, promote innovative technologies, and support complex project delivery.

You will work with the project team to create and manage 3D/4D models, coordinate with trade partners and drive adoption of BIM tools. Ideal candidates have a degree in a buildings-related field and experience reading 2D/3D drawings, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in architecture/engineering/construction.
• Experience reading 2D and 3D drawings is essential.
• Drafting and modeling experience in a buildings/AEC setting.

Responsibilities

• Builds virtual models from plans, specs and elevations with supervision.
• Collaborates on site logistics models with the project team.
• Coordinates trade partner model coordination and reports to PM.
• Assists with model updates and RFIs processing.
• Promotes use of virtual construction tools across project staff.
• Drives adoption of PCL technologies through processes.
• Fosters strong, customer-focused relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Builds virtual models from plans, specifications, and elevations with direct supervision.
• Collaborates with the project team on the development of construction site logistics models.
• Collaborates on the trade partner model coordination process and reports to the project management team, as appropriate.
• Assists with model updates.
• Supports the project team in the creation and processing of RFIs.
• Promotes the use of virtual construction tools and processes to project staff.
• Shares new technologies with project teams and seeks to drive adoption of PCL technologies through operational processes.
• Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree, diploma, or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
• Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred.
• Drafting and modeling experience.
• Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D construction drawings and specifications is an asset.
• Working knowledge and training in 3D modeling software and the ability to create content in VDC software is an asset.
• Exposure to 4D scheduling software and planning tools is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret markups to construction drawings.
• Ability to participate in trade coordination meetings and understand trade partner deliverables and scope.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
