Job summary

City of Surrey is seeking a dedicated Violin Instructor to plan and teach violin lessons for Winter and Spring 2027 and beyond, working with learners of all ages in the Clayton Community Arts program. The ideal candidate holds a music-related degree, at least two years of teaching experience, and RCM Level 10 certification, along with current First Aid/CPR-C credentials.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Music, Performance or a related field.
• Minimum two years' experience teaching music and a thorough understanding of music pedagogy.
• Certified RCM Instructor, Level 10.
• Current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C certificate.

Help foster creativity, skill development, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Clayton Community Arts is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Violin Instructor to plan and teach violin lessons and programs for the Winter and Spring 2027 seasons and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to work with learners of all ages and contribute to community arts programming.

• Provide high-quality private violin instruction to participants of varying ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
• Foster student growth, confidence, and musical development through engaging and supportive instruction.

• Prepare, maintain, and organize instructional spaces and equipment before and after lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS

We're looking for dynamic, creative leaders with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the performing arts. Our ideal candidates are effective communicators with strong classroom management skills.

The successful candidate must have:

• Degree or Diploma in Music, Performance or a related field.
• Minimum two years' experience teaching music and a thorough understanding of music pedagogy.
• Certified RCM Instructor, having completed minimum Level 10 RCM education.
• Current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C certificate.
