Job summary

Fox Harb’r Resort in Wallace, Nova Scotia, invites a dedicated Vineyard Manager to lead our premium vineyard operations. You will oversee crop production, seasonal scheduling, safety, and team leadership to maintain our luxury standards.

You will plan pruning, canopy management, harvesting, and equipment maintenance while coordinating with contractors and staff, balancing hands-on work with strategic administration in a demanding outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma,GED or equivalent
• Nova Scotia pesticide applicators license – Agriculture certificate
• Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, self motivated
• Confidence in directing a team of 4 employees in all aspects of Vineyard work
• Ability to perform physical tasks - walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Planting, cultivating, early spring pruning, tying, canopy management and harvesting crops.
• Repairing and maintaining trellis system for grape vines
• Conduct inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment/ report problems
• Organizing and supervising employees daily
• Keep records of work activities, product applications, material usage as requested
• Apply pesticides whenrequired for control of weeds, diseases and insects in Vineyard
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times when required
• Comply with all companypolicies and regulations.
• Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties asdirected by manager.

General Description: The Vineyard Manager isresponsible for the overall management, development, and day-to-day operationsof Fox Harb’r’s vineyard. This position oversees vineyard health, cropproduction, seasonal maintenance, staff, equipment, and vineyard-relatedprojects while ensuring the property is maintained to a high standardconsistent with the resort’s luxury environment.

The Vineyard Manager will develop and implement vineyard management practices thatsupport the long-term health and productivity of the vines, including pruning,planting, fertilization, pest and disease management, irrigation, canopymanagement, harvesting, and general vineyard maintenance.

Theposition is responsible for planning seasonal work, supervising vineyard teammembers and contractors, maintaining equipment and supplies, monitoringvineyard conditions, managing budgets, and ensuring all work is completedsafely, efficiently, and to the standards expected at Fox Harb’r.

Thesuccessful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent organizationaland leadership skills, an understanding of horticulture or viticulture, and apassion for developing and maintaining a high-quality vineyard. They will becomfortable working outdoors in all seasons and have the ability to balancehands-on vineyard work with planning, administration, and team leadership.
