Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Vice-President, Technology Risk will lead the enterprise-wide technology risk strategy, including cyber, AI, data governance, and emerging tech. This pivotal role involves shaping risk culture, overseeing risk frameworks, supporting transformation efforts, and representing IGM externally.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and lead an enterprise-wide technology risk strategy aligned with best practices and regulations.
  2. Implement a scalable and adaptive risk management framework across all business units.
  3. Develop policies and methodologies for technology risk, cybersecurity, AI, third-party risk, and data governance.
  4. Advise and challenge the first line of defense, collaborating with CIO and data teams.
  5. Identify and mitigate emerging risks through scenario planning and analytics.
  6. Report transparently to senior leadership, risk committees, and the Board.
  7. Promote a risk-aware culture through education and engagement.
  8. Lead and develop a high-performing risk team committed to continuous learning.
  9. Represent IGM in regulatory, audit, and industry forums related to technology risk.

Qualifications

  • Proven executive leadership in technology risk and resilience, preferably in regulated or fast-evolving environments.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity, data governance, AI governance, and emerging tech risks.
  • Experience implementing transformational risk strategies in complex or global settings.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with data-driven insight capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to anticipate future risks and regulatory changes.
  • Experience working with external audits, regulators, and industry forums.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC are assets.
