Ensure credit adjudication, control activities and related processes are conducted within a strong risk culture, focusing on emerging risks and within risk appetite. Provide objective oversight, enable capital optimisation, ensure ongoing monitoring, and partner with business lines to develop effective strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate and/or authorise credit requests up to assigned limits; make sound recommendations within the Bank’s risk appetite and in adherence to policy and standards.
  • Evaluate financial and non‑financial risks for accurate client risk profiling, and challenge banking strategies to ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Timely monitor changes in client creditworthiness and recommend adequate courses of action.
  • Understand the economic, political and regulatory framework and its impact on the assigned portfolio; recommend appropriate actions.
  • Act as an advisory partner for Banking and champion a client‑centric experience, collaborating effectively with Banking to deliver cohesive and efficient service while managing risk.
  • Ensure the adjudication process is achieved within established SLA parameters.
  • Validate CRM critical data elements in credit systems that feed capital and provisions.
  • Support innovation and digitisation of risk processes, improving accuracy and speed of credit decisions and operational efficiencies.
  • Proactive and ongoing monitoring of early warning signs and sectorial/market trends to ensure timely action on the assigned portfolio.
  • Work with Banking to ensure adherence to all compliance metrics for the loan portfolio, managed within defined KPI.
  • Support effective and efficient operations of area, ensuring adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.
  • Exemplify a culture of risk awareness and accountability, support client‑centric culture, provide coaching and an attractive value proposition for talent.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or credit adjudication.
  • Post‑secondary education completed in business or related area.
  • Extensive experience in complex financial analysis.
  • Good understanding of bank lending policies and procedures, financial analysis, risk assessment techniques, credit structuring, collateral and security documentation, and related legislation and accounting practices.
  • Proven credit judgement and administration of a commercial credit portfolio.
  • Strong negotiation and problem‑resolution skills.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to produce concise and professional credit replies, presentations and correspondence.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong coaching and counselling skills.
