Job summary

Cineplex Inc. is hiring a Vice President to lead all future new builds and renovations across Canada, reporting to the Senior VP, Real Estate, Design & Construction.

This leader will oversee internal and external PMs, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects meet time, budget, and quality targets while supporting multiple retail banners and construction methods. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Professional designation or certification (PMP, CCA, Gold Seal, or equivalent) is an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive retail construction and project management experience, including estimating, contract administration, and project close-out.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale construction projects and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction design, scheduling, quality management, building codes, and health and safety requirements.
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
  • Strategic, solutions-oriented thinker with exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering results.
  • Self-motivated, customer-focused, and adaptable, with the ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Design & Construction team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee national construction projects from planning through close-out, ensuring effective project controls related to budget, schedule, quality, risk, and reporting.
  • Direct tendering, contract administration, and procurement activities, including evaluating proposals, resolving issues, and driving value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of contract documents, shop drawings, lease obligations, and landlord/tenant scope requirements.
  • Champion design innovation and construction best practices that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, landlords, and regulatory authorities to support successful project delivery and timely issue resolution.
  • Provide strategic support and counsel to the Senior Vice President and Executive Leadership Team as required.

Job description

What you will do:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Real Estate, Design & Construction, the Vice President will lead the successful delivery of any future new builds and existing and future renovation projects across Canada. This role oversees internal and external Project Managers, consultants, and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards while supporting multiple retail banners and construction methodologies. This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Key Responsibilities
