Job description

Join to apply for the Veterinary Technician - Overnight role at VCA Animal Hospitals.

VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Ontario is the largest 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital in the Inland Empire.

We have provided exceptional veterinary service and patient care for the past decade. We are seeking a motivated, experienced credentialed technician (RVT) for our ERCC Department to work with a strong team in a fast-paced environment. If you possess these skills, this could be a good fit for you.

Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient’s condition, and notify the Doctor.
2. Experience with venipuncture and IV catheter placement on critical patients.
3. Perform anesthetic induction and monitoring of sensitive and critically ill patients.
4. Handle specialized equipment and be willing to learn new skills.
5. Care for urinary catheters, central lines, and nasal gastric tubes.
6. Calculate CRI and medication dosages accurately.
7. Run in-house lab samples and handle submissions to outside laboratories.
8. Pay attention to detail, especially regarding discrepancies in patient care and treatments.
9. Work productively with minimal supervision.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: $25 - $27/hour, negotiable based on experience and credentials. Shift differential available for weekend later hours.
