Job summary

White Rock Veterinary Hospital in British Columbia is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to educate clients on medications, home care, vaccination needs, and preventive health. You will work under a Veterinarian or RVT, assisting with lab procedures and client communication.

You will help greet and handle animals to create a safe, comforting environment, while collaborating with a compassionate, skilled team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and people skills are essential.
• Experience in the veterinary field is preferred.
• Leadership capabilities are a plus for counseling clients and team support.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure.
