Job summary

VetCare in Mission, BC, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and RVTs, educate clients on medications, home care, vaccines, and preventive care, and help maintain a comforting clinic environment for pets.

Weekend availability is required, including Saturdays and Sundays. Prior veterinary assistant experience is required. We offer medical/dental insurance, flexible scheduling, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and educate clients on medication use, home care, vaccination needs, and preventive care under supervision of a Veterinarian or RVT.

• Greet, handle, and treat animals to maintain a safe and reassuring environment for patients and clients.

About the Role

Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. Weekend coverage is needed for this position. Veterinary Assistant experience is required.We are looking for someone who can work Saturdays and Sundays.
