Job summary

Vancouver Veterinary Hospital in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a friendly Vet Assistant to educate clients under a Veterinarian or RVT, assist with medications, vaccinations, and home care guidance, and help with lab procedures and testing.

You will greet and handle animals to keep them calm and secure, collaborate with RVTs and client care staff, and contribute to a supportive, flexible work environment that values balance and growth.

Qualifications

• Counsel and educate clients on animal care under supervision of a Veterinarian or RVT.
• Explain home care, vaccination requirements, dosage/purpose of medications, and preventative care.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure.
