Job summary

Main West Animal Hospital in Welland is seeking a friendly Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, compassionate team. You’ll support veterinarians and technicians, help with examinations, keep kennels clean, and ensure accurate records for our patients.

This full-time role offers a starting hourly wage around $18, with negotiable terms based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training to grow your veterinary skills.

Qualifications

• At least two years of excellent customer service experience, in person and over the phone.
• Experience with multi-line phone systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to clients and situations.

Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts & every other Saturday

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

• Assist Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with patient care and treatment

• Update electronic patient records and document care provided
• Assist with answering phones
• Communicate with clients about their pets' visits and care

What Our Veterinary Assistants Bring
