LaBarge Weinstein LLP is seeking a Corporate / Transactional Associate Lawyer (2019–2021 call) with 4–6 years of experience to handle high‑level financing and M&A work for venture‑backed clients. The role offers client exposure, ownership of transactions, and collaboration with a boutique team across offices in Ottawa, Toronto or Vancouver.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of post-call experience in corporate/transactional practice.
• Experience with venture capital backed companies and investors is a plus.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on financings and M&A transactions and related corporate matters.
• Manage due diligence, disclosure schedules and closing coordination.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel and advisors throughout transactions.
• Take ownership of deal workstreams with increasing autonomy.
• Work with tax, accounting and other professionals as needed.
• Support ongoing corporate maintenance and client advisory work.
• Assist with business development and client relationships.
