Job summary

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in Toronto is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, test and support technology solutions that enable business capabilities across CPP Investments.

You will partner closely with business and technology teams, applying your understanding of the technical landscape and business needs to assess requests, develop well-reasoned solutions and continuously improve engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field, such as Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python and Java.
  • Experience with software development practices, including version control, testing methodologies and Agile development.
  • Ability to write clean, readable and well-documented code while adhering to coding standards.
  • Ability to independently research and develop proficiency in complex technologies.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues and develop well-reasoned recommendations.
  • You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, test and support technology solutions and products that enable business capabilities across CPP Investments. You will partner closely with business and technology teams, applying your understanding of the technical landscape and business needs to assess requests, develop well-reasoned solutions and continuously improve engineering practices. Alternative Investments Technology partners with investment teams to deliver and support technology solutions that enable CPP Investments’ investment activities. Within this group, the Real Assets technology team supports Real Assets, which oversees CPP Investments’ global investments in real estate, the energy sector and infrastructure focusing on long-term growth and sustainable value creation. The Team Alternative Investments Technology partners with investment teams to deliver and support technology solutions that enable CPP Investments’ investment activities. Within this group, the Real Assets Technology team supports Real Assets, which oversees CPP Investments’ global investments in real estate, energy and infrastructure, with a focus on long-term growth and sustainable value creation.
