Job summary

EllisDon Corporation seeks a VDC Coordinator to join a dynamic project team. You will collaborate with the VDC Leadership to implement BIM plans, coordinate MEP models, and develop workflows that leverage BIM data for estimating, scheduling, and field coordination on major construction projects.

Responsibilities include leading model-based design reviews, conducting clash detection, and delivering COBie-compliant assets.

Qualifications

• University degree/ Technology Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, M&E or related field.
• 1-3+ years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, MEP model Coordination, preferably on site.
• Concrete Modeling experience considered an asset.
• Advanced experience in Revit, AutoCAD / AutoCAD and Navisworks is required.
• Experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, cmBuilder, and Fuzor are considered an asset.
• 3D Modelling experience considered as an asset.
• Experience working with Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge interpreting design and construction drawings.
• Passionate about the construction industry and innovation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a project team working in a fast paced environment with project managers, superintendents, and engineers.
• Collaborate with VDC Leadership team to build and manage a BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategy.
• Understand the owner BIM / Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverables.
• Develop project-specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and management facilitation.
• Develop solutions with project stakeholders by performing model-based design and constructability reviews, clash detection and visualization.
• Manage and develop Revit models to contain COBie data for asset management.
• Conduct VR walkthroughs of the future built asset with the client to address design concerns.
• Take ownership over coordination meetings with designers, trades, and suppliers including chairing meetings and writing agendas & meeting minutes.
• Generate drawings for sleeving and logistics from the BIM using standardized details and workflows.
• Work closely with the field team using intelligent building models to track progress on site and contribute to project schedules and plans.
• Use 3D Modeling to model Architectural, Structural, MEP and Construction Logistic elements for representation, visualization, and coordination.
• Facilitate reality capture, utilizing LiDAR, Drones and 360 Photography for model integration, QA/QC, analysis, and visualization.
• Teach and mentor project teams on software and workflows and participate in R&D initiatives.
