Job summary

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres in Ontario is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform general ultrasound examinations across MSK, abdomen, pelvis, breast, and thyroid using multiple ultrasound systems. The role supports patient care with attention to safety, accuracy and effective communication.

Ideal candidates have 0-2 years in vascular testing, MSK/OB background, and current CMRTO and CPR credentials.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of Vascular Technologist experience.
• MSK & OB experience, asset.
• Experience with arterial/venous duplex studies and carotid doppler.
• Current CMRTO and CPR certification.
• Ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures on various ultrasound equipment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuing education and training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient identification, safety and preparation before a scan.
• Greet patient, explain the test, position the patient and prepare for examination.
• Observe patient during the diagnostic procedure and note any changes.
• Perform quality control assessments and follow health and safety policies.
• Maintain and service ultrasound equipment per department standards.
• Prepare and organize reports.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scanwhile maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Greet patient, explain forthcoming test, position patient and prepare him/her for examination.
• Observe patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes invital signs and summon medical aid when necessary.
• Ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required. Take all reasonable precautionsand work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Follow procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance withdepartment standards.
• Ensure equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
• Prepare and organize reports as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

• 0-2 years of Vascular Technologist experience.
• MSK & OB experience, and experience with a vascular lab/surgeon is an asset.
• Experience in arterial (upper and lower), venous duplex studies and carotid doppler required.
• Current CMRTO and CPR certification.
• Ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures on various types of ultrasound equipment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This role is for an existing vacancy. The expected hiring range for this role is from $40- $45 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience level, and internal equity. Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered at a higher level with adjusted compensation for certain roles.
