Job summary

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform a range of ultrasound examinations across MSK, abdomen, pelvis, breast and thyroid. The role offers full-time, part-time, and casual opportunities with relocation and sign-on bonuses across Canada.

Applicants must hold CMRITO certification and have up to 2 years of related experience; vascular, MSK and OB experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ultrasound examinations across MSK, abdomen, pelvis, breast, thyroid and other areas.
• Ensure patient safety, proper identification, preparation, and confidentiality.
• Position patients, explain procedures and monitor during scans.
• Maintain quality control and adhere to health and safety policies.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.
• Prepare and organize diagnostic reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to deliver timely results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to scanning while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Greet patient, explain forthcoming test, position patient and prepare him/her for examination.
• Observe patient during the diagnostic procedure, making note of any symptoms or changes in vital signs and summon medical aid when necessary.
• Ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required. Take all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Follow procedures for proper equipment maintenance in accordance with department standards.
• Ensure equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
• Prepare and organize reports as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:

• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Candidates must have CMRITO certification.
• Vascular, MSK & OB experience is an asset.
• Ability to perform all types of ultrasound procedures on various types of ultrasound equipment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
• Demonstrate effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This role is for an existing vacancy. The expected hiring range for this role is from $40- $42 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience level, and internal equity. Candidates with significantly more experience may be considered at a higher level with adjusted compensation for certain roles.
