Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Vacuum Truck Assistant Operator/Labourer to provide onsite support for the Vacuum Truck Services Division. The role covers hydro excavating, confined space entry, spill cleanup, line flushing, and power washing, with safety and teamwork at the forefront.

This is a developmental position with company assistance to obtain a 3A license. You will help with loading/hauling fluids and materials, assist with equipment setup, and support with site preparation and

Qualifications

Valid Class 5 Driver's license.
Experience in confined spaces, heights, noisy environments and extreme weather conditions.
Industrial pulp and paper and/or oil and gas experience is an asset.
Swamping experience (vacuum and hydrovac) is an asset.
Experience with chemicals is an asset.

Responsibilities

Assist the Operator with the safe operation of the various units.
Assist the Operator with the setup and control of hoses attached to the pumps to ensure safe and effective pumping of water.
Participate in job site preparation, including rigging in/out of equipment.
Spot the safe positioning of equipment.
Ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored.
Perform general labor duties on job sites including truck cleaning, equipment packing, preparation for demobilization, and debris removal.
Conduct confined space entry to remove debris and perform detailed cleaning.
Other duties as required.
