Job Title: UX Design Manager

Position Overview:
Our client is looking to recruit a User Experience (UX) Design Manager in Edmonton, Alberta. Working with the Design team, you will be responsible for managing projects and leading the team in delivering an excellent user experience for our client's products and websites. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for a hybrid working arrangement.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of designers to craft user-centric experiences that drive measurable business impact
2. Shape the UX vision and strategy for the website, setting the stage for innovation and growth
3. Transform business goals into engaging designs by leading impactful, design-driven projects
4. Champion design excellence by driving initiatives like style guides, asset libraries, process optimizations, and tool enhancements
5. Lead the team through design sprints, prioritizing projects for maximum value while managing workflows and keeping project tools updated as milestones are achieved
6. Develop and oversee project plans, ensuring alignment with design objectives, timelines, and team resources
7. Ensure design quality and consistency by refining best practices and processes
8. Elevate design work through thoughtful critique, providing actionable feedback to push boundaries
9. Mentor and empower your team, fostering a culture of growth and high performance
10. Bridge the gap between business needs and user experience, translating requirements into intuitive solutions
11. Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, QA, and Research teams to streamline implementation and deliver seamless user experiences
12. Work with Product Owners to develop a UX/Design strategy and vision
13. Be a trusted partner for stakeholders, keeping them engaged and informed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

1. Post-secondary education in a design-focused program
2. 5+ years of experience in UX/UI, or web design roles
3. Proven leadership experience is essential
4. Exceptional UX design skills, with the ability to create intuitive, user-centered experiences
5. A compelling portfolio showcasing diverse UI/UX designs across multiple screen types
6. Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality design outputs
7. Proven ability to achieve or exceed business objectives through design
8. Deep expertise in interaction design, information architecture, user research, storyboarding, wireframing, concept design, and prototyping
9. Comprehensive knowledge of current web design best practices
10. Proficiency in industry standard tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD)
11. Experience in SaaS focused organization is a valuable asset
