OVERVIEW:

Our Marketing and Customer Experience team is seeking a collaborative and creative Team Manager, Design to lead and inspire a team of design professionals. In this role, you’ll oversee the planning, execution and delivery of visual design projects that support Alberta Blue Cross’s business objectives and elevate the customer experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Content Marketing and Design, you’ll guide your team in developing visual assets that align with brand standards, meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders and drive measurable results. You’ll work cross-functionally with marketing, digital and business teams to ensure design excellence and operational efficiency.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee the creation and delivery of design projects across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and business goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including marketing, product, and digital teams—to gather requirements, set priorities and ensure design solutions meet project objectives.
  • Monitor design quality, consistency and adherence to brand guidelines, providing feedback and implementing process improvements as needed.
  • Analyze design performance and stakeholder feedback to inform strategy, optimize workflows and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage project timelines, resources and deliverables, ensuring efficient execution and timely completion of design initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship and support to design team members, facilitating professional growth and knowledge sharing.


WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Marketing or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in design or a related discipline, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
  • Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • A strong background in brand standards, visual identity and best practices in design for digital and print.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to analyze feedback, solve problems and make informed decisions to improve design effectiveness.
  • Experience in developing and implementing design governance and process improvements.
