Job summary

CEDA is seeking 1 Utility Operator Class 2 at our Nanticoke, ON location. You’ll gain hands-on experience with vacuum trucks and high pressure water jetting units, with competitive pay and a path for growth.

Expect variety as scopes change daily and a strong team culture focused on safety and results. The role offers an hourly wage of CAD 24–26, withBenefits and pension after 1040 hours worked and eligibility for overtime per the collective agreement.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class G driver’s license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years.
  • Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required).
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools.
  • Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity.
  • Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back.
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property.
  • Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision.
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment.
  • Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents.
  • Challenge your eye for detail, take your time to get the job done right and safely every time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Role Specifications
  • Valid ClassG driver’s license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
  • 1+ years experience in an industrial environment is an asset but not required
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Ability to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
