Job summary

USA DeBusk Canada, Edmonton, is seeking an Industrial Cleaning Operator to perform a wide range of physically demanding tasks including high-pressure water blasting, vacuum operations, waste disposal, site remediation, and safe tractor-trailer operation. You will ensure safety, compliance with mandates, and efficient handling of equipment and product transfers.

The role requires strong safety awareness, ability to work in loud, hazardous environments, and willingness to travel with overnight

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • TWIC – if recently applied or it, a receipt will suffice for interview purposes.
  • Driver’s license or State issued I.D. – MUST BE VALID
  • Commercial Drivers License – Class 3 or 1 – MUST BE VALID
  • Must be capable of passing a hair follicle and urine drug screen.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic Safety Training Skills.
  • Hydro blasting or pressure cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • General labor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and reload trailers with product. May be required to breakdown product and equipment.
  • Operate and set up all necessary cleaning equipment such as high-pressure pumps, in service line hydro-blasting, and vacuum), in accordance with operational and training and guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Operate tractor-trailer safely following regulations. Comply with all record keeping requirements including Driver’s Daily Record of Duty Status, Vehicle Inspections, trip sheets and related necessary documents.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including but not limited to personal protective gear.
  • Ability to work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and heavy industrial settings.
  • Manually clean, install, fit repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment on tanks.
  • Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting any job. Inform supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity.
  • Maintains cleanliness of tractor interior.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

We offer a full suite of maintenance and turnaround services including hydro blasting, hydro cutting, hydro excavation & vacuum services, unit clearing & chemical cleaning, tank cleaning, degassing & vapor control, pigging & decoking, controlled-volume pigging, FCC hot catalyst services, fixed bed inert catalyst services, blind-to-blind specialty exchanger services & bundle extraction, and transportation, storage & transloading services, as well as specialty turnaround services. We are currently expanding our DeBusk Canada operation based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Job Description:

The Industrial Cleaning Operator will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving, and manipulating equipment and materials, emergency response, vacuum truck operations, waste disposal, site remediation and high-pressure water blasting. The Operator will safety operate a tractor-trailer vehicle, loading, unloading, reloading product, delivery of product to designated locations. The Operator will ensure and maintain a safe environment through compliance of all Company, Local, and Federal mandates and programs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • The DeBusk Canada office location is 7211 – 8th Street, Edmonton, Alberta
  • Regular Office Hours are Monday to Friday; 0730 to 1600hrs
  • Peak months are April/May and September/October.
  • Workload during peak months is multiple one week duration projects of 12-hour shifts, with little time between each project.
  • There is regular travel expected with this role.
  • Most projects will require overnights away from home.
  • This position requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and spend up to 16 hours on shift, either day or night shift, weekends, and holidays.
  • The applicant must be able to work outside, anytime of the year, with outdoor temperatures anywhere between -40°C to +40°C.
  • The applicant must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in poor lighting.
  • The applicant must be able to work while wearing any combination of Fire-Resistant Clothing (FRC), hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, CSA safety boots, gloves, half and full-face respirator, chemical suit, and goggles, SCBA, fall protection harness.
