Grain Millers, Inc. in Yorkton, SK is seeking a Utility 4th Class Ticket Engineer to ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the powerhouse. The role requires boiler operation, RO water systems management, and compliance with food safety and TSASK standards.

Ideal candidates have a valid 4th class steam engineering ticket, strong mechanical skills, and are comfortable with shift work including nights and weekends in a grain processing environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid 4th class steam engineering ticket.
• Knowledge and/or understanding of steam plants is required.
• Must have strong mechanical skills.
• Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with various treatment chemicals.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently in all-weather conditions and in elevated/confined spaces.
• Flexibility for shift work including nights and weekends.
• Work in a grain processing environment with allergens such as grain and grain dust.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain boilers and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor boiler water chemistry and water treatment systems.
• Operate and maintain Reverse Osmosis (RO) water systems.
• Monitor wastewater treatment, fire protection, and compressed air systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Complete required inspections, logbooks, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with TSASK regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support plant operations.
• Follow all company safety, GMPs, environmental standards, and ethics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Required to have flexibility and availability for shift work including nights and weekends
• Must be able to work in a grain processing environment that exposes staff to allergens such as grain and grain dust

Hours of work

While this position is normally scheduled Mon-Fri 8 hrs/day, you will be required to cover absenteeism for shift power engineers as necessary. Flexibility and availability for working OT and changing shifts is required and this position can expect fluctuations in work schedules.
