Job summary

The City of Mississauga is seeking a Forestry Maintenance & Operations professional to monitor the health of trees across streets, parks and natural areas. You will collect data, assess conditions, and supervise contractors to ensure work aligns with contract specifications.

You will coordinate with supervisors and managers, perform field audits, and help manage plantings, vegetation maintenance, and safety standards for City properties.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in urban forestry, forestry, arboriculture, or related discipline.
• Must be an ISA Certified Arborist and hold TRAQ or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant urban forestry experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health and condition of trees and forestry assets on streets, parks and natural areas.
• Perform field audits to validate work completed by contractors against contract specs.
• Serve as a first point of contact for residents and inquiries.
• Operate and maintain data collection and geospatial equipment (GPS, GIS, RTK, RPAS).
• Coordinate and administer the contract lifecycle including procurement, monitoring and closure.
