Job summary

City of North Vancouver seeks a Planner 1 to join City Design & Planning for approximately eighteen months. The role focuses on supporting updates to the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw, influencing policy, and directing growth in the City’s vision to be a healthy, small city.

Qualifications

• University degree in Community / Regional Planning and some professional planning experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC).
• Strong project management, problem solving, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support updates to and implementation of the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw.
• Contribute to city-building initiatives and policy development.
• Engage with internal and external contacts and public inquiries.
• Attend evening Council, committee, and public meetings.
