Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a contract Linux/OS administrator in Ottawa to support Solaris 11 and Red Hat 8/9 environments. The role involves OS administration, maintenance, patching, and hardening, plus planning server installations and tuning Linux using Satellite and Ansible.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in a Redhat Linux 8/9 environment using Satellite.
• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience with Solaris 11 environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Ansible Automation.
• Demonstrated experience with UNIX System administration, hardware support and building (Scripting, Packaging, OpsCenter).
• Demonstrated experience working within DevOps environments, including the development and management of CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Solaris 11 environment, Redhat Linux 8, 9.
• Perform OS administration, maintenance, patching and hardening practices.
• Assist with planning and execution of server installations, configuration, and tuning of Linux using Satellite and Ansible.
• Assist with the development of Ansible playbooks to automate daily administrative tasks; assist with SOPs and documentation.

Job Description:

• Support the Solaris 11 environment, Redhat Linux 8, 9

• Perform Operating System administration, maintenance, patching and hardening practices

• Assist with the planning and execution of server installations, configuration, and tuning of Linux using Satellite and Ansible (Ansible Automation Platform)

• Assist with the development of ansible playbooks to automate everyday administrative tasks. Assist with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation (build books, operational guides, etc.)

• Other related activities and deliverables, as required.

Required Skills:

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience in a Redhat Linux 8/9 environment using Satellite

• A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated work experience with Solaris 11 environment

• Demonstrated experience with Ansible Automation

• Demonstrated experience with UNIX System administration, hardware support and building (Scripting, Packaging, OpsCenter)

• Demonstrated experience working within DevOps environments, including the development and management of CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment) pipelines.

Desired Skills:

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Network Automation, and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

• Redhat OpenSCAP
