Role: Reporting to the Sr Programs Process Specialists/Supervisors, coop students in the Portfolio Reporting & Analysis team will support program & project managers by:

1. Running & analyzing life-to-date cost reports
2. Developing and updating reports using Excel (pivot tables) and SAP as required
3. Assisting with developing and uploading project forecasts
4. Compiling explanations for variance to budget
5. Managing status of cost objects in SAP
6. Data reconciliation, support, and updating data in tracking systems and SAP
7. Assisting in resource management and capacity planning of project and program work
8. Creating resource requirements for projects
9. Requesting resources and creating reports for outstanding requests
10. Assisting in User Acceptance Testing for system upgrades/reconfigurations
11. Preparing reports of equipment in-service
12. Preparing insurance claim submissions
13. Producing admin cost reports and maintaining related forecasts
14. Documenting data and actions/minutes during portfolio review meetings
15. Supporting other department initiatives, ad-hoc requests, and reporting as needed

During their term, students will learn technical skills such as:

• Using SAP (mainly Controlling module, Project Systems, Plant Maintenance, Accounts Payable, BIBW)
• Advanced Excel (functions, pivot tables, macros, Visual Basic)
• Project Management (planning, scheduling, control, reporting)
• Practical management accounting, financial, and data analysis skills

Job Requirements:

• Academic Level: 3rd year Business/Commerce, Finance/Accounting, Engineering/Computer Science, Mathematics
• Must be enrolled in post-secondary studies and returning to full-time studies after the work term, unless the work term is required for graduation.
• International students must have a valid work permit and Social Insurance Number (SIN).
