Job summary

Securiguard is seeking experienced Asset Protection Security Guards in the Niagara region to safeguard retail client assets. You will conduct surveillance, patrol sites across Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, investigate incidents, and prepare professional security reports while delivering strong customer service.

Valid guard license and First Aid/CPR are required; use of force/arrest experience is a plus. Pay rate ranges from $23.00 to $24.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR required.
• 1 year of security experience in high-profile, customer-focused environments such as retail/government/healthcare.
• Prior Use of Force and arrest experience is an asset.
• Able to work across Niagara Falls and/or St. Catharines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing professional daily/incidents security reports.
• Knowledge of TP A, Canadian Criminal Code and 494(c).
• Conflict de-escalation and arrest procedures.
• Military/Police background is an asset.
• Excellent situational awareness and punctuality.
• Able to stand/patrol up to 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard assets and minimize losses for the retail client.

• Investigate suspicious activities and review CCTV footage.

The Day to Day:

As a Loss Prevention Security Guard at Securiguard, your role involves safeguarding the assets and minimizing losses for our retail client. You will conduct routine surveillance, employing your keen observational skills to identify and prevent theft, fraud, or other security breaches. Regularly patrolling the premises, you'll interact with customers and employees to deter potential incidents while maintaining a high level of customer service. Your role includes investigating suspicious activities, reviewing CCTV footage, and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. Crafting detailed incident reports. Your commitment to enforcing security protocols, de-escalating conflicts, and, when needed, making lawful arrests ensures a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

What you bring:

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR
• At least 1 year of security experience in a high-profile customer-focused environment such as retail, government, or healthcare/respite shelters.
• Previous Use of Force training and arrest experience will be considered an asset.
• Ability to work at different sites across Niagara Falls and/or St. Catharines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.
• Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code and 494(c)
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
• Ability to conduct arrests in appropriate and sanctioned situations.
• Military/Police background/Law Enforcement background is an asset.
• Strong observational skills and situational awareness
• Punctuality
• Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.

Pay Rate: $23.00 to $24.50
