Echelon Insurance in Mississauga is seeking an Underwriting Assistant for Commercial Auto to support daily underwriting operations and administrative tasks. You will manage communications, coordinate with the underwriting team, and ensure timely processing of endorsements and policy documents.

The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service excellence, and collaborative work in a fast-paced environment. CIP or related education is a plus, and accommodations are provided as needed.

• Post-secondary education in a related field; CIP would be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong organization, multi-tasking and attention to detail.

Position Details

• The Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Auto will play a critical role in the day to day processing of various administrative components in addition to working closely with the team. Manages emails daily and responding to inquiries in the shared inbox
• Provides administrative support to the underwriting team
• Processes endorsement in an accurate and timely manner
• Performs tasks including out of sequence endorsements, letters of authorization, experience letters and cancellations
• Assigning certain files to underwriters that need immediate attention
• Counting and logging incoming electronic mail, and moving to the appropriate mailbox
• Handling all registered and returned mail from Canada Post
• Sending letters to Brokers/Agents regarding returned registered letters and mail
• Adding documentation to policy processing system where required
• Provide direct assistance and support to the Underwriting department
• Other tasks as required

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. • Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or currently holds or working towards CIP would be an asset
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task

• Strong time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail in a highly structured environment
