Job summary

Echelon Insurance in Montreal seeks a Senior Underwriter, Commercial Lines, to underwrite and price complex new business, endorsements and renewals within a defined binding authority.

You will maintain in-force policies, attach correct wordings and certificates, and build strong broker relationships while delivering exceptional service. Travel up to 20% and collaboration with claims, pricing and accounting teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–10 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Post-secondary education in a related field; CIP designation is an asset.
• Extensive knowledge of product development and underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and price new business, endorsements and renewals on Commercial Lines within binding authority.
• Maintain in-force policies and ensure all policies are issued with correct wordings, schedules, and certificates.
• Develop and maintain excellent broker relationships by providing exceptional service.
• Collaborate with brokers, claims, pricing and accounting teams as needed.
• Respond to inquiries by phone, email, or fax; manage daily activity reports.
• Assist in monthly business activity reporting.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
