• Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or CIP would be an asset.
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.

Responsibilities

• The Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Auto will play a critical role in the day to day processing of various administrative components in addition to working closely with the team.
• Manages emails daily and responding to inquiries in the shared inbox
• Provides administrative support to the underwriting team
• Processes endorsements in an accurate and timely manner
• Performs tasks including out of sequence endorsements, letters of authorization, experience letters and cancellations
• Assigning certain files to underwriters that need immediate attention
• Counting and logging incoming electronic mail, and moving to the appropriate mailbox
• Handling all registered and returned mail from Canada Post
• Sending letters to Brokers/Agents regarding returned registered letters and mail
• Adding documentation to policy processing system where required
• Provide direct assistance and support to the Underwriting department
• Other tasks as required
