Job summary

CLIC, a leading Canadian financial services co-operative, seeks an Underwriting Training Specialist in the Group Benefits department. The role is Regular Full-Time with a hybrid work model (2 days in office).

You will design and deliver training for Underwriting staff and collaborate with Sales and other departments to align programs with policy. The successful candidate will have a post-secondary diploma, 5 years in Group Underwriting/Benefits, and experience building adult-learning programs.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or industry equivalent required.
• 5 years’ experience in Group Underwriting or strong Group Benefits knowledge.
• Experience developing and delivering adult learning programs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Designation such as ACS/CEBS is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to all new and existing Underwriting staff.
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, case studies and presentations to the Underwriting team as well as other Group Benefits departments and Sales teams.
• Develop structured training programs that promote self-serve capabilities and reflect needs of areas, procedures and learning styles.
• Develop, facilitate and oversee a structured Quality Assurance program.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of underwriting guidelines, procedures and process manuals.
• Monitor, communicate and support staff in understanding changes to procedures, projects or initiatives.
• Build positive relationships and provide necessary support to internal and external clients, departments, auditors and reinsurers.
