Underwriting Technician

Join us as an Underwriting Technician to leverage your expertise and experience in insurance underwriting.

AIG underwriting teams develop insurance solutions across various sectors including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact:

• Partner with assigned underwriters to process new and renewal business from start to finish.
• Collaborate with Service Center and Center of Excellence (CoE) teams to develop and deliver tailored solutions.
• Identify and resolve account alerts and blocks during submissions to prevent conflicts.
• Perform data analytics, prepare referral documentation, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Analyze loss information and financial statements to assist in quote development.
• Help issue quotes, binders, policies, endorsements, and cancellations within designated timelines.
• Request specific policy filings as needed.
• Prepare policy writing instructions for Shared Services and handle premium billing documentation.
• Prepare documents for reinsurance quotes and complete post-issuance policy reviews, documenting discrepancies.
• Assist underwriters with broker follow-ups on outstanding issues, including legal agreements, collateral, and premiums.
• Monitor premium bookings and policy issuance to meet Line of Business (LOB) metrics.
• Attend broker or client meetings as requested.
• Consistently meet service levels and quality standards.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma preferred.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills, decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adaptable to ambiguity, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with technology and familiarity with various computer systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
