Job summary

CAA Club Group, part of Echelon Insurance, is seeking an Underwriting Assistant in Alberta to provide essential administrative support to the underwriting team. This role emphasizes accuracy, broker liaison, and documentation within a structured environment.

You will collaborate with brokers, assist with quote pre-selection, and prepare worksheets while contributing to monthly activity reporting and mail management.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education is required.
• Interest in CIP program is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work in an environment fostering teamwork.
• Ability to thrive in a highly structured, detail oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the underwriting team.
• Ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached
• Verification of insurance certificates issued by our brokers.
• Communicate directly with brokers to track current quote requests.
• Assist underwriters with the pre-selection of quotes and summarize basic exposures.
• Completion of worksheets
• Gather and review information for monthly activity reports
• Review, prepare, create, request and send incoming and outgoing mail, reports and forms
• Other assigned duties, including managing the team's inbox

Position Details

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager, Long Haul Trucking, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the underwriting team.

• Ensure all policies are issued within service standards with the appropriate wordings, schedules, and certificates attached

The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
