Job summary

BrokerLink Inc. is seeking an Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Lines, to join our growing team.

The role supports underwriters with endorsements, cancellations, and administration of complex policies while maintaining strong broker relationships. Ideal candidates have post-secondary education in insurance or related field and about two years of relevant experience, with strong typing, organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

• Post-secondary education in insurance, business or related field is an asset.
• 2 years of relevant experience in insurance or related field preferred.
• Strong typing skills to process daily work and high organization.

Responsibilities

• Handle endorsements and cancellations for commercial lines policies.
• AssistUnderwriters with administration of complex policies and rating.
• Support brokers with underwriting and policy inquiries.
• Use computer systems for inquiries, filing, underwriting and rating transactions.
• Contribute to process improvements to increase dept. efficiency.

However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.**About the role**We're looking for an Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Lines, to join our growing team! **What you'll do here:*** Handle insurance policy endorsements and cancellations.* Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously.* Assist Underwriters with the administration of complex policies.* Apply underwriting strategies in accordance with company guidelines and personal underwriting authority limits.* Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies.* Work closely to develop and maintain positive business partnerships with brokers and co-workers.* Use the computer system for policy inquiry, electronic filing, underwriting and rating transactions.* Make recommendations to improve the department and increase its efficiency.**What you bring to the table:*** Post-Secondary education in insurance, business or a related field is an asset* 2 years of relevant experience in insurance, business or a related field is preferred* Strong typing skills to process daily work* Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal* Initiative and ability to work under pressure* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products and computer tools* Team player* No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
