We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and outgoing underwriter to join our Professional Liability team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building broker relationships, has a natural sales instinct, and enjoys uncovering new business opportunities. You will be responsible for underwriting a portfolio of Errors & Omissions (E&O) risks across various industry classes including architects & engineers, miscellaneous professionals, design-build contractors, and project-specific E&O. You’ll play a key role in driving profitable growth through strong technical underwriting, broker engagement, and portfolio management.

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto (preferred), Edmonton, or Calgary, with flexibility for remote work 2-3 days per week. The role involves building and maintaining broker relationships through regular travel within Ontario and occasionally across Canada.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada; sponsorship is not available.

Key Responsibilities

1. Underwrite new and renewal business according to guidelines.
2. Evaluate submissions, assess risks, and determine pricing.
3. Conduct claims reviews and consider loss history.
4. Prepare quotations and policy documents accurately.
5. Manage an assigned book of business, monitor portfolio performance.
6. Develop and maintain broker relationships for new business growth.
7. Contribute to team culture and company goals.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional liability underwriting experience, especially with architects and engineers.
• Experience with project-specific E&O policies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
