Western Financial Group is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter for a 12-month contract in Victoria, BC. The role involves assessing risk for auto, motorcycle, marine, and RV policies, and handling renewals, changes, and broker communications.

The ideal candidate holds a General Insurance Level 1 license with Level 2/CIP/CAIB preferred, plus underwriting experience. Western emphasizes a people-first culture with strong community impact and wellness programs.

Responsibilities

Personal Lines Underwriter – 12 month contract

Here Is What a Typical Day Looks Like

• Gather and assess risk information to determine eligibility on lifestyle insurance products including auto, motorcycle, marine and RV
• Assist in development of new programs and maintain current programs
• Communicate with brokers regarding new policy issuance, changes, renewals and cancellations
• Advise, interpret, and validate coverage based on policy terms
• Issue policy changes, renewals, and cancellations
• Support internal departments and branches with policy interpretation and technical advice

Role Details

• Hours: 37.5 hours/week
• Location: Hybrid if located in Victoria, BC. Remote (with correct licensing) if located outside of Victoria
• Salary range: $51,000 - $65,000
