About Island Gold Mine: Located in northern Ontario, Island Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines, with ongoing expansion and growth in reserves and resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks and service vehicles.
2. Inspect and diagnose faults on mining equipment using testing equipment.
3. Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment.
4. Replace and repair defective parts and systems on mobile equipment.
5. Check vehicle lighting systems and test repaired equipment for performance.
6. Read operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
7. Create work-orders, find parts, and complete parts lists independently.
8. Maintain shop cleanliness.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience:

1. Completed OSSD or GED.
2. Certified journeyperson.
3. 4-5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, preferably in mining.
4. Prompt attendance and willingness to work alternative shifts.
5. Own mechanic tools required.
6. Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and lift objects up to 75 lbs.
7. Interest and ability in machinery, electronics, and precision equipment.
8. Ability to adapt to technological changes and work independently or in a team.
9. Ability to work under pressure effectively.
