Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an Underground Mine Trainer at the Red Chris Mine in northern British Columbia.

The role involves in-field training, safety-focused instruction, and competency-based coaching to ensure workers operate safely and efficiently in an underground hard rock mine. You will develop training modules, support new hires, and work with site leads to tailor programs that meet regulatory requirements and Barminco standards.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years’ experience in an underground hard rock mine with heavy mobile equipment.
• Train-the-Trainer certification; preferred.
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License; manual transmission experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of Mining Legislation, Acts, Regs and Standards relevant to training.
• Experience in establishing and delivering training programs in mining.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Barminco HSE policies and safety acts.
• Be a role model and coach for employees on correct behaviours.
• Induct new hires with Barminco ethos and standards.
• Provide in-field training on equipment operation and task execution.
• Coach on mining methods, UG equipment, and operations.
• Maximize worker understanding of roles and equipment.
• Monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Create and implement training modules focused on safety and procedures.
• Tailor training to individual learning needs and align with goals.
• Record training activities and generate regular reports.
• Assess training outcomes and adjust methodologies as needed.
