Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Mine Technician to support underground survey operations at our Saskatchewan site. You will install and maintain survey control, create drawings, and help ensure safe, efficient mining activity.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years in surveying/technician roles, experience with Deswik, MicroStation or AutoCAD, and familiarity with point-cloud tools. Safety comes first in our collaborative, growing environment.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years experience in a surveying or technician role.
• Comfortable navigating and utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated to drive positive improvement.
• Experience with computer drafting programs (Deswik, Microstation, AutoCAD).
• Underground mining experience would be an asset.
• Familiarity with robotic total station and point-cloud scanning instruments would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien safety principles and priorities.
• Support all aspects of site safety systems.
• Work closely with the Mine Engineering and Mine Operations to ensure support is being provided to site in an efficient manner.
• Install survey control stations underground according to mining layouts for the direction of mining advancement.
• Provide survey control for underground construction projects.
• Maintain accuracy of survey control networks.
• Create mine survey drawings showing survey station locations and mining designs.
• Monitor heat, dust, and air quality levels in the mine as required.
• Install, maintain, and record data from underground rock mechanics/ventilation instrumentation as directed by the Mine Engineer.
• Scan and analyze point-cloud data of underground workings.
• Provide Mine Technician specific training to new hires.
• Maintain, repair, and procure survey instrumentation, tools, and materials.
