Job summary

Nutrien is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our mining operations in Saskatchewan. You will troubleshoot and maintain mining equipment, including PLCs, protection and control, and HMI systems, on a 5-5-4 shift in underground settings.

You'll bring an accredited Electrical/Instrumentation Technologist diploma (or equivalent) and hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley and Schneider PLCs, RS Studio, FactoryTalk SE/ME, Unity, and CodeSys.

Qualifications

Accredited diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering Technologist or similar (required).
Experience in heavy industry, underground mining is an asset.
Proficient with PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley, Schneider) and troubleshooting.
Proficient with RS Studio, FactoryTalk SE/ME, Unity, CodeSys.
Familiar with protection relays and control devices.
Familiar with industrial networking (MODBUS, CIP, ETH/IP).
Experience with fiber optics and routing an asset.
Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
Ability to communicate with a multidisciplinary group in a complex production environment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and maintain Mining Equipment including onboard PLCs, protection and control, and HMI equipment.
Troubleshoot and maintain Material Handling and Hoisting equipment.
Assist electricians in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of underground electrical control systems.
Create and modify project work packages including procedures, commissioning lists, bills of materials, and training documents.
Work with equipment with voltage ratings up to 25KV.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve goals.
Participate in using and promoting the safety systems in place.
Work on a 5-5-4 schedule, including working days and weekends.
Work in an underground setting.
