Job summary

Qualifications

Your next challenge

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Underground Maintenance Department, ensuring goals are achieved while promoting our values, safety, and environmental responsibility.

  • Work closely with the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, project, and engineering teams during mine development and construction
  • Provide maintenance input into the design and selection of underground mobile equipment and infrastructure
  • Participate in equipment commissioning and testing, ensuring maintainability and compliance with Ontario Mine’s Act and Regulations
  • Determine the optimal mobile equipment fleet for current and future phases
  • Collaborate with Planning and Reliability teams to develop maintenance strategies, schedules, and spare parts requirements
  • Plan maintenance for fixed infrastructure such as ventilation, water, electrical systems, and utility infrastructure, including defining maintenance strategies and identifying critical spare parts
  • Establish maintenance work breakdown structures, procedures, and standards
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules and job plans
  • Specify requirements for a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS/EAM) and assist in its implementation
  • Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability
  • Establish KPIs for maintenance and asset performance
  • Provide input into CAPEX and OPEX budgeting, and identify cost-effective maintenance solutions
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience (asset)
  • Minimum of 3 years of underground mining maintenance experience, with a background in mobile equipment and fixed infrastructure (asset)
  • Ability to translate operational needs into maintenance plans and infrastructure requirements
  • Familiarity with underground air, water, and electrical systems
  • Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP, JDE)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Work schedule
  • Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off at Detour Lake mine site
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on-site at no cost. Transportation and other travel expenses are covered based on residence location in Canada.
